Ditson-style Concert

This concert size instrument is based on the Ditson soprano made by Martin Guitars in the early part of the 20th century.

Built from koa or old stock mahogany (some Honduran, some, brick-red Cuban) it has a 15⅛” scale length on a rosewood fingerboard that joins the body at the 13th fret. The rosewood bridge is a simple knot-against-slot design.

The position markers are gold pearl; the nut and saddle are Corian™. The body depth of 65mm gives this instrument a full voice and is suited for both fingerpicking and strumming.

The Ditson shown below with its binding, abalone rosette and gloss finish costs £1350. Usual price is £925 matt finish, £1175 gloss finish.
