Health & Safety

Any workshop is a potentially dangerous environment. Trained as a teacher and in consultation with an experienced Health & Safety Procedure writer, I have completed the necessary risk assessments to make your experience in the workshop as safe as possible.

Although I am fully insured for public liability you will be required to sign a disclaimer.

Also, as part of our Health & Safety Procedure, you will need to fill out an emergency contact and medical form which will include details of any allergies or special instructions should you fall ill. You will need to provide the name and address of someone we should contact in case of an emergency and the name and address of your doctor.

Email me if you are concerned about any of this and I will mail you copies of the relevant paperwork. At the end of the course these are shredded - we do not keep a copy.

International students MUST have adequate medical cover for foreign travel and activity holidays.

You will be workshop supervised at all times. For all courses you will use basic hand tools, a cordless drill, band-saw, table router, disc sander and the pedestal drill. Prior to operating any tool or machine you will receive instructions which you will be expected to follow. Failure to do so may result in an accident for which I will accept no liability and you may be asked to leave the course.

There is no smoking on the premises and no shower facility - expect to go home a little dusty!
